{
"mcpServers": {
"openhook": { "url": "https://openhook.dev/mcp" }
}
}VS Code
Save this in .vscode/mcp.json. Start Openhook from the MCP server list.
{
"servers": {
"openhook": { "type": "http", "url": "https://openhook.dev/mcp" }
}
}Other MCP clients
Use https://openhook.dev/mcp with Streamable HTTP transport. No account or global API key is required. Each inbox returns its own private management token.
Try the whole loop
Create a webhook inbox. Save its private token with this task. Give me its public HTTP URL. Wait with since: 0 for a test event and show me the JSON body. Delete the inbox when done.
Send a request to the URL from another terminal. The agent guide explains waiting, local forwarding, and cleanup.
Run your own server
git clone https://github.com/openhook-dev/openhook-inbox.git cd openhook-inbox uv sync uv run openhook --http
For stdio, use command uv with args ["--directory", "/absolute/path/to/openhook-inbox", "run", "openhook"]. Keep the HTTP server running to receive callbacks. A locally hosted URL needs public routing for external senders; the hosted service already has it.
